We have a multi-faceted range of sustainability initiatives centered around our waste management, energy consumption and environmental emissions:

Landfill – We have a mature program of implemented “beneficial re-use” strategies that divert around 39% of our waste away from landfills.

Energy – For years we have employed energy reduction strategies. This is constantly evolving in line with environmental findings.

Emissions – We have state of the art trade-waste treatment facilities that ensure our waste water is treated beyond the standards set by the water authorities. Our goal is to place no additional burden on the NSW Government water treatment infrastructure or the environment.

We are firm believers in supporting our community and through various partnerships we are enriching our social surrounds. Our desire and passion to give drives us to support local charities such as Pankind, Woolies of Wheels, OzHarvest and Fast Australia. We endorse our colleagues individual community responsibility by giving them paid time off throughout the year for these occasions.

At a grass roots level we proudly sponsor local sporting teams including cricket, AFL, cycling and more.

We donate food helping feed those in need on a weekly basis. We donate fresh quality ready meals to FoodBank, Oz Harvest and Golden Manna. In 2020 we provided over 65,000 meals into the community for the needy.

We participate in Clean Up Day across our facilities to improve the local area by removing over 50 bags of litter each year, removing harmful rubbish and waste from the streets. Beak & Johnston has officially announced its plan to assess and mitigate potential risks of Modern Slavery in our operations and supply chain. See link for more information.
